Best Roundtable Yet!
Join us for the Hill Country Classic Regulatory Roundtable on April 18! The Roundtable brings together insurance regulators, industry experts, and key leadership to focus on the issues facing the industry while supporting a charitable organization. This year’s charity of choice is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Central Texas.
This year we are pleased to announce that one of the newest and well-respected Commissioners in the country, The Honorable Kent Sullivan of Texas, will join us, accompanied by his wife Connee. Kent and Connee are involved in many Austin charitable organizations and we are grateful for their continued support of our event.
Joining Kent will be our distinguished returning group of panelists led by Commissioner Jim Donelon of Louisiana (8th appearance) as well as Commissioner Mike Chaney of Mississippi, Commissioner John Doak of Oklahoma, Commissioner Ralph Hudgens of Georgia and Commissioner Ken Selzer of Kansas, who has a personal connection to our cause and is very active in the fight against cystic fibrosis.
Fred Karlinsky will again moderate our panel and individual Commissioners will participate in separate discussions on various “hot topics” of the day. A stellar panel is planned to discuss fiduciary duty in insurance sales and the possible pathway of future legislation and regulation from the Department of Labor to the Securities and Exchange Commission. Providing a distributors point of view will be Andrew Unkefer, well known producer and industry leader. Noted attorneys Kevin Mechtley of North American Life and Health and Marek Olearnik of Equitrust Life Insurance Company, a major multi-year sponsor of our event, will also participate.
Another panel focusing on the increasing use of big data by insurance companies and distributors will be led by Bryan Neary, the founder of CSG Actuarial and Access Capital.
We are still working on some additional topics of discussion but we promise an interactive and lively discussion for all who attend.
